Gentle Baby comes to rescue

Being a mother is not easy especially when the elder one is now facing the terrible 2 and the younger one is just a mere 4 months old baby. I have to be honest that i neglected my house chores a lot of time. There are always laundry that need to be send to the washing machine; dried laundry that need to be folded and hang; floors that full of my dropped hair (I hate this); room full of toys and the list go on.

So everything reaches my level of tolerance, I will need to find the time to do it. The best time is when both babies goes to sleep! But it's not easy to have both baby sleeping soundly earlier than their expected sleeping time... This is when my "Gentle Baby" comes to rescue...

Just diffuse 5 drops of Gentle Baby in my diffuser 1 hour before their sleeping time and voila, they are both sleeping like a baby now. Love it!

Simple avocado ice cream recipe

As I am still nursing my 4 months old baby, it's important for me to eat nutritious food to ensure that my milk is thick and nutritious for my little cutie pie. 1 of the food that is highly recommended to all nursing mother is avocado!

However, it's not easy to prepare avocado. Not to mention that avocado is pretty expensive here in Malaysia. Thus I am always a bit reluctant to finish 1 whole avocado in 1 serving. But avocado oxidize very fast if it is not finished in a few hours. This is where this recipe comes in handy because it can prevent the avocado to oxidize and yet I can have delicious avocado ice cream anytime.

It's actually pretty easy to prepare:

Ingredients:
1 avocado
250ml heavy cream
3 tablespoon condensed milk
Vanilla extract

To start, blend the avocado with a bit of heavy cream and condensed milk in a blender until there are no more lumps left. It is highly recommended to use an avocado that is not over riped. I personally prefer to select an avocado that is already ripen but still maintain a bit of crunch near the pit. This will ensure your end product to have some nutty taste. Over riped avocado will tend to be too soft and do not have the nutty taste. If you prefer sweeter taste, add more condensed milk.

Next, in a mixer, whipped the heavy cream until it starts to increase in volume and become more fluffy. Don't over mix it. Add in the blended avocados and mix for a while more to make sure all are combined nicely.

It's almost done! Add in the vanilla extract at this stage. I am using vanilla bean extract here. The purpose of the vanilla bean extract is to give a gourmet sweetness to the ice cream. In this recipe, I didn't use a lot of sweetener, so the vanilla extract will help to bring out the sweetness. Taste the mixture. Add more condensed milk if you prefer sweeter taste.

Next just pour all the mixture into a container and freeze it!

Freeze for 2 hours and while the mixture not entirely frozen, I would recommend to make some slit using a knife so that it's much easier to scoop them up or serve the ice cream later. If you prefer soft serve ice cream, this is the stage to serve your ice cream. Else, just put it back to the freezer to continue freeze it.

Tadaa, that's the way to prepare simple and easy avocado ice cream! It's super yummy and addictive!

Simple pillow case

Finally bring out my not so new but first time using sewing machine. My first project with this sewing machine is a pillow case.

It's a very simple pillow case. I didn't even bother to do French seam for it as this is just to test out whether the sewing machine is working or not. And with this project, looks like it works!

I have so much more ideas that I wanted to do! Hopefully I will have sufficient time to do it with 2 little boys in my house! I  am even considering doing a step by step tutorial on how to sew a simple pillow case.

Welcome

It was in my mind for a very long time. To have a new blog that allows me to showcase my handmade items that i have made.

Finally after a 1234567 days, I found the motivation to create this blog and starts posting and writing. Hopefully this will last! hahahaha.
